Northumberland FA is delighted to welcome Gill Upperton to the organisation as Designated Safeguarding Officer.

Gill has a background in education and the civil service. Most recently she has worked within a local authority dealing directly with safeguarding referrals. 

She has also spent many years around Grassroots football, both as a spectator and volunteer.

Gill said: “I’m passionate about helping to keep North East Grassroots football as safe and enjoyable as possible for all. I’m really looking forward to getting started and meeting our local football community.”

Dean Buckle, Head of Compliance and Inclusion, added: “We are delighted to welcome Gill to the team, in what is a vital role here at Northumberland FA.”
