Our Second Coach Development Day brought together 3 of the best presenters in the country using the fantastic facilities at Wallsend BC on Saturday August 17 2024.

Presenting were Sally Needham Human Development & Performance Consultant , Neil Winskill PDP U21 Lead Coach/Methodology Lead at Newcastle United & Mark Bertram Player & Coach Development Lead Foundation Phase at Newcastle United Academy.

Sally delivered a presentation around Neuroscience within coaching . This was an insight into the way we interact with our players, behaviours from our players & how we can better improve this as well as how we as coaches can activate learning within our players . The workshop was a deep dive into the psychological corner within coaching.

Neil & Mark delivered their presentation around developing the individuals within your programmes & teams . The focus was on individual players & the what the needs of the player may be. Designing practices with repetition to support the learning of the individual. A great insight into some of the work that happens within Newcastle United Academy.

The day was a fantastic opportunity for coaches at all levels of the game to learn & support them on their coaching journeys.

Northumberland FA’s Coach the Coach programme continues to be one of the best Coach Development programmes in the country . With a full season of CPD opportunities coming up in 2024/25 both online & F2F it is a great resource to support any coaches journey.
