CEO Column: No Shortage of Opportunities at Northumberland FA
What a busy couple of weeks it has been here at Northumberland FA, with the launch of several new schemes and courses giving players - both young...
Keeping active throughout the winter can be easier said than done, but with Northumberland FA there’s no shortage of ways to keep fit and enjoy football activities during the colder months.
Those who are looking to play 11-a-side football on a casual basis can do so through our Friday Night Elevens League, which returns on October 20. We take the stress of organising a pitch and referee away, so that all you need to do is simply turn up and play. Find out how you can register by emailing Mark.Woodhall@NorthumberlandFA.com
Senior players can also make the most of our football sessions by joining our recently launched Walking Football League. We’re looking for players over the age of 50 to come along and take part in our fun, friendly and competitive sessions which run through until March of next year. Please click here for further information.
If playing the game isn’t for you, why not take your first step on the refereeing ladder? We have released details of a new FA Referee Course which is set to begin at Foxhunters Pitches & Pavilion tomorrow. Our referee courses are always highly rated by participants and places are limited, so please email Lindsey.Robinson@NorthumberlandFA.com to request an application form.
Finally, I’d like to echo the thoughts of many when I say that we lost a true friend of North-East football in Freddy Shepherd last week. Not only was Freddy highly thought of through his time as Chairman of Newcastle United, he was also a huge advocate of grassroots football within our county. My sincere condolences go out to his friends and family.
John.
