Weekly CEO Column - Nike's Most Wanted Trials, FA Girls' Football Week and the FA's Grassroots Football Survey
What a busy few weeks it has been at Northumberland FA.
As you may have seen on our website, we hosted Nike’s Most Wanted trials at our HQ, Whitley Park, earlier this month. It was a pleasure to have 18 players from across the North of England visit us and make use of our fantastic facilities. The Nike Football Academy is run with the intention of helping these youngsters find a professional club, so I would like to wish all who took part the very best of luck in their careers.
It was also great to see the return of the fantastic FA Girls’ Football Week this month. Running from the 10th-16th October, the week aimed to encourage as many girls to play football as possible. I was delighted to hear that more than 80,000 people took part, which was almost four times the original target.
MORE - Second FA Girls' Football Week Exceeds Target
If you’ve been keeping an eye on our social media channels this week, you would have seen that the deadline to complete the FA’s Grassroots Football Survey is Friday.
Whether you’re a player, coach, referee or spectator, this really is a great way for you to voice your opinions and improve grassroots football across Northumberland. Not only this, by taking part you will be entered into a prize draw to win four Club Wembley tickets to the England v Scotland World Cup qualifying fixture on Friday 11 November 2016 at Wembley Stadium!

Finally, good luck to all of our teams involved in games this weekend.
